Support the BASC

Since 1987, individuals, churches, and businesses have contributed to the James P. Humphrey Sidney-Shelby County Black Achievers Scholarship Fund.   Some donations have been made in the name of friends and family to honor their memory.  Over the last three decades, the committee has awarded over $234,000.00 to 159 students who have pursued college degrees in many areas, including education, business, media, law, politics, engineering, and medicine.

The BASC also partners with the Edison Foundation, Inc. and The Ohio State University of Lima to provide supplemental funds to scholarship recipients who attend Edison State Community College and OSU at Lima.
